Bespoke software for the UK
Bespoke Software Development forUK Businesses
We build bespoke software for UK owners and operations heads who have outgrown spreadsheets and off-the-shelf tools. Written scope, a fixed quote, fortnightly demos, UK GDPR-aware data handling and full code ownership.
- Fixed quote after a written discovery scope
- Working software on staging every two weeks
- About four to five hours of overlap with UK hours
- Repository and cloud accounts in your name
Bespoke software development in the UK usually means one of two things: a system your business runs on because nothing off the shelf fits, or an internal tool that replaces a tangle of spreadsheets and email. We build both from Greater Noida, India, to a written scope, and we hand over the code, the documents and the accounts.
This page covers what we build, what UK law and tooling mean for the design, how the work runs across the time difference, and how to judge any vendor, including us. Read our general custom software development page for the broader service description.
When bespoke software makes sense
Buy or subscribe first if an existing product covers 80% of what you need. Commission bespoke software when:
- Your process is the reason customers choose you, and standard software would flatten it.
- You are stitching together three or four tools and paying staff to copy data between them.
- A regulator, client or insurer needs an audit trail that spreadsheets cannot give.
- You want to sell the software itself, or offer a customer portal under your brand.
If none of those apply, a configured Odoo, Zoho or Microsoft product may be cheaper. We will say so during discovery.
What we build for UK businesses
Typical projects across the 20+ industries we have worked in:
- Operations platforms: job scheduling, quoting, dispatch, stock, field-service tools and approval workflows for trades, logistics, manufacturing and facilities firms.
- Customer and supplier portals: order tracking, document sharing, self-service forms and secure uploads.
- Finance and reporting tools: invoice capture, reconciliation helpers, management dashboards, and links to Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
- Integrations and data pipelines: syncing your CRM, payment provider, accounting package and warehouse systems.
- Internal admin systems: staff onboarding, rota and leave, asset tracking and compliance checklists.
Larger ERP and CRM builds have their own pages: ERP development and CRM development.
UK-specific requirements we design around
Data protection
Software that stores personal data must follow UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with the ICO as regulator. The ICO's UK GDPR guidance covers lawful basis, data minimisation, retention and security. We build these into the product: role-based access, audit logs for who viewed or changed a record, retention rules that delete or anonymise on schedule, and exports to answer subject access requests.
The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 changed parts of the regime, so check your own privacy notices and processes with an adviser as the provisions are commenced.
Moving data to India
Developer access to UK personal data is a restricted transfer. See the ICO's international transfers guide. We prefer to work on synthetic or anonymised data and keep production in a UK or EU cloud region under your account, which keeps real-data access rare and logged.
Making Tax Digital and accounting
If your system produces VAT or income figures, HMRC expects digital records and software that can communicate with it. HMRC's guidance states that all VAT-registered businesses should be signed up to Making Tax Digital for VAT. Income Tax is next: from April 2026 it applies to unincorporated businesses and landlords with total self-employment and property income above £50,000, falling to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028, per HMRC's digital record-keeping notice. If your software holds business records, we design the data model so figures can flow to your accounting package or MTD-compatible software without re-keying.
Accessibility and marketing consent
Customer-facing screens should meet WCAG 2.2, which supports your duties under the Equality Act 2010 to avoid disadvantaging disabled users. For marketing emails, SMS and tracking technologies, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations apply; see the ICO's guidance on PECR compliance. We record consent with a timestamp and source so you can show it.
How the work runs across the time difference
India is UTC+5:30 all year. On GMT (from 25 October 2026) we are 5 hours 30 minutes ahead; on BST we are 4 hours 30 minutes ahead. UK mornings overlap our afternoons, so planning, questions and reviews happen in that window.
- Two or three short calls a week at a time that suits you.
- A shared board where every task and bug is visible.
- A demo on a staging server every two weeks.
- A named lead who replies during UK hours.
Work continues in our evening, so you often wake to progress. Find out more on the UK overview.
Process and timeline
A realistic path for a mid-sized bespoke system:
- Discovery (1–2 weeks): workshops, process mapping, integrations and data inventory. The output is a written scope, wireframes and a fixed quote.
- First release (usually 10–14 weeks): core workflow, user roles, one or two integrations, and a staging site you can use.
- Pilot and hardening (2–4 weeks): real users, data import, performance and security checks.
- Support: a monthly retainer for fixes and small changes, or a dedicated team for ongoing development.
These are planning ranges, not promises. They depend on how quickly you decide, how clean your data is and how many systems we connect to.
Engagement models and pricing
- Fixed quote after discovery: best when scope is clear. The quote lists what is in and what is out.
- Monthly dedicated team: best for a product that will keep changing. You direct priorities; we supply developers, testing and project management.
- Support retainer: for software already live.
We do not list GBP prices here because cost depends entirely on scope. Treat any vendor who quotes without a scoping conversation with caution.
Risks of offshoring and how we reduce them
- Code ownership: the repository, hosting and domain are in your name from day one, and IP is assigned in the contract.
- Communication gaps: written scope, a shared board and fortnightly demos make drift visible early.
- Quality: automated tests on critical paths, code review, and a staging site you can poke at.
- Key-person risk: documentation and handover notes live in your repository, so a developer change does not leave you stranded.
- Data: synthetic data first; real-data access limited, logged and covered by a data processing agreement.
We hold no ISO or SOC 2 certification, and we do not claim any.
Our experience, honestly described
We have delivered 963+ projects over 10+ years. Examples such as ERPSetu and RawERP were built for Indian businesses, not UK organisations; they show how we structure large multi-module systems, not UK references.

Read the case studyIn UK usage they mean the same thing: software written for your specific processes rather than bought as a standard product. "Bespoke" is the more common British term. Either way, you should end up owning the source code and be able to extend it later.
A first usable release for a mid-sized system is often 10–14 weeks after a one to two week discovery phase, then a pilot period. Simple internal tools can be faster, and systems with many integrations take longer. We confirm timelines in the written scope.
Yes. We connect to accounting platforms through their published APIs, typically to post invoices, sync customers and read payment status. Which package suits you depends on your accountant and the volume involved, so we check the API limits during discovery.
We work on synthetic or anonymised data where possible, restrict and log any real-data access, and sign a data processing agreement. Transfers rely on a mechanism such as the ICO IDTA or the UK Addendum. Your legal adviser should confirm the paperwork for your case.
Yes. Source code is held in a repository in your name and accounts are registered to you. The contract assigns intellectual property to you, so you can bring in another supplier or an in-house team without our permission.
