If you run a UK business and want bespoke software built without paying London salaries for a full in-house team, a development partner in India is a sensible option. It is also one with real risks, and this page sets out how we handle them: who you talk to, how the time difference works, what UK data protection law requires of you, and how a project starts.

DipanshuTech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is a software company in Greater Noida, India. We have been building software for over 10 years, have delivered 963+ projects across 20+ industries, work with clients in 15+ countries, and have 63+ developers. We do not have a UK office, and we will not pretend otherwise: you will work with us over video calls and a shared project board.

Why UK companies hire a development partner in India

The usual reasons are practical rather than ideological:

  • Capacity without a long hiring cycle. A UK-based senior developer can take months to recruit. A dedicated team in India can start once scope and contract are agreed.
  • A wider skill mix for the same budget. A project often needs a backend developer, a mobile developer, a designer and a tester for a few months, then much less. A partner lets you rent that mix instead of employing it.
  • A way to finish the backlog. Many UK owners have a list of internal tools, integrations and portal improvements that never reach the top of the queue.

The trade-off is that you manage a relationship across a distance. That works well when scope is written down, demos happen on a schedule and you own the code from day one.

What we build for UK businesses

Each service has its own UK page, written around the tools and rules you actually deal with:

Our broader service descriptions, in plain Indian-market terms, are at /services. The UK pages narrow that to what a British buyer needs to decide.

How the working day overlaps

India is on UTC+5:30 all year with no clock changes. The UK is on GMT from 25 October 2026, which puts India 5 hours 30 minutes ahead, and on BST from 29 March 2026 to the October clock change, when India is 4 hours 30 minutes ahead.

In practice a UK 9:00 start is 14:30 in India on GMT. The UK morning therefore lands in the Indian afternoon, and you get about four to five hours when both sides are working. We use that window for planning, questions and reviews. Developers work on during the Indian evening, so you often start the next UK morning with a build to look at.

Regular rhythm on a typical project:

  • A short check-in call two or three times a week at an agreed UK time.
  • A shared board where every task, bug and decision is visible to you.
  • A demo on a staging server every two weeks, with working software rather than slides.
  • One named person who answers your messages in UK hours.

UK data protection: what you need to know first

If the software handles personal data of people in the UK, you remain responsible as the controller. In the UK that means UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 has amended parts of that regime, including the rules for international transfers.

Giving a team in India access to UK personal data (for example, a copy of production data to debug an issue) is a restricted transfer. The ICO's guide to international transfers explains the options. As far as we are aware, India is not covered by UK adequacy regulations as of October 2026, so you would normally rely on an appropriate safeguard such as the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, together with a transfer risk assessment. Confirm the current position with your own adviser.

How we reduce the exposure in practice:

  • We build and test with synthetic or anonymised data wherever possible, so most work never touches real personal data.
  • Where real data access is needed, it is limited to named people, logged, and covered by a written data processing agreement.
  • Production servers sit in a region you choose, such as a UK or EU cloud region, under your cloud account.
  • We sign an NDA on request and can work with your DPO or legal adviser on the transfer paperwork.

We do not hold ISO 27001, SOC 2 or Cyber Essentials, and we say so rather than imply it. If your customers require a supplier with a specific certification, ask us early and we will tell you plainly whether we fit.

Contracts, payment and ownership

Common practice with offshore partners is a UK-law master services agreement or a contract you control, with intellectual property assigned to you on payment. We work from a written scope and a fixed quote after discovery, or a monthly dedicated team where scope will change as you learn. Invoices are normally settled by bank transfer. Your repository, cloud accounts, domain and app store accounts are in your name, so you can move the project elsewhere without asking us.

How a project starts

  • Discovery call. You describe the problem and who uses the system. We ask about integrations, data and deadlines.
  • Written scope. We send a document with features, assumptions, what is not included and a timeline. Nothing is built before you agree it.
  • Fixed quote or team plan. Fixed quotes suit well-defined work. A dedicated team suits long-running products.
  • First fortnight. Access, repository, staging server and the first demo date are set up before major development begins.

For examples of finished work, see our case studies. They were built for Indian businesses, and we describe them that way; they are evidence of how we build, not of work for UK organisations.

What to check on any offshore vendor

  • Will the code, database and cloud accounts be in your name from day one?
  • Can you see working software every two weeks, not only at the end?
  • Is there a written data processing agreement and transfer mechanism before real data moves?
  • Who answers you in UK hours, and what happens if they leave?
  • Can the vendor show something they built and kept running, and explain what went wrong on it?

Start a conversation

If you want a view on cost, timeline and risk for a specific project, contact us with a short description. You can also read about the company first. Send a rough brief; we will reply with questions and, after discovery, a written scope.

FAQs

Questions UK buyers ask

No. DipanshuTech works from Greater Noida, India, and we do not have a UK office. We work with clients in 15+ countries and meet you over video calls, but we have no named UK reference to offer, and we will not invent one. Our case studies are Indian-market products you can inspect.

It depends on scope, so we give a fixed quote only after a discovery phase and a written scope, or a monthly price for a dedicated team. We do not publish a day rate. A useful test on any vendor is whether they can explain exactly what is in and out of the quote.

It can be, but it needs a lawful transfer mechanism. The ICO lists adequacy regulations, appropriate safeguards such as the IDTA or UK Addendum, and narrow exceptions. Our advice is to use synthetic data wherever possible and to take legal advice for real-data access.

India is UTC+5:30 all year. On GMT it is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of the UK, so your 9:00 is our 14:30, which leaves roughly four to five hours of shared working time. Calls fall in your morning, and we continue working through your afternoon.

You do. Source code lives in a repository in your name, and hosting, domain and app store accounts are registered to you. Intellectual property assignment is written into the contract, and you can move the project to another supplier at any time.
