If you need custom software development services in the USA and an in-house team is out of reach, an offshore partner can build it for far less staffing effort than hiring locally, provided the scope is clear and the contract protects you. We build custom software for US businesses from our office in Greater Noida, India, and this page explains what that looks like: what we build, how the time difference is handled, what US rules affect the design, and how to judge whether we are a fit.

What we build for US businesses

Most US requests we see fall into a few shapes:

  • Internal operations software. Dispatch boards, job costing, quoting, approvals, inventory, scheduling. The spreadsheets and email threads a company outgrows around 20 to 50 employees.
  • Customer and partner portals. Order tracking, document upload, invoices, support requests, dealer ordering.
  • Integration layers. Connecting QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Shopify, Stripe, a warehouse system or a legacy database so people stop retyping data.
  • Workflow and reporting systems. Role-based dashboards that read from your real data, with exports your accountant can use.
  • Replacements for aging software. A desktop tool or an old PHP or .NET system moved to a maintainable web application, with a migration plan and a rollback path. See our legacy modernization service.

Industries we have built for include healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, ecommerce and retail and professional services. The general custom software development page lists the stack and approach in more detail.

US requirements that shape the design

This is the part generic offshore pages skip. Your software has to fit the US legal and commercial setting, and the cheapest time to handle that is before the first line of code.

State privacy laws

There is no single federal privacy statute for general businesses. Instead, states have passed their own. California's CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, gives residents the right to know what is collected, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. It applies to for-profit businesses doing business in California that meet at least one threshold: more than $25 million in annual gross revenue, data on 100,000 or more California residents or households, or half of revenue from selling personal information. The California Attorney General publishes the details. The California Privacy Protection Agency also adopted regulations on cybersecurity audits, risk assessments and automated decision-making technology, approved in September 2025 and listed with an effective date of January 1, 2026 (check the page for the compliance date of each part); see the CPPA's summary.

Other states followed. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah came first, and Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island began on January 1, 2026. Rhode Island's applicability threshold is among the lowest, at 35,000 consumers. For a software build, this turns into features: a data inventory, deletion and export endpoints, consent and opt-out records, a Global Privacy Control signal on the web, and retention rules. We build those in from the start when your counsel says they apply, rather than bolting them on after launch.

Health, payments and enterprise buyers

If the software touches protected health information, HIPAA applies. Any vendor who can see that data on behalf of a covered entity is a business associate and must sign a business associate agreement (BAA); HHS publishes sample BAA provisions. We raise this in discovery, and wherever possible build and test with synthetic data so developers never touch real patient records.

For card payments, we use a hosted checkout or payment fields from a processor such as Stripe so card numbers do not pass through your servers. That keeps PCI DSS scope small, though your processor or acquirer decides which self-assessment applies; the PCI Security Standards Council hosts the standard.

Many US enterprise customers ask vendors for a SOC 2 report. We do not hold one, and we would rather say so than hint otherwise. What we offer instead is practical: role-based access, audit logs for sensitive actions, encrypted backups, secrets kept out of source code, and your code and cloud accounts held in your name so your own audit scope stays under your control. If your buyer needs a vendor SOC 2 report from every subcontractor, discuss that with us early.

How the time difference works

India is UTC+5:30 all year. US Eastern time is 9 hours 30 minutes behind until November 1, 2026, then 10 hours 30 minutes behind. Pacific is 13 hours 30 minutes behind. The honest model is one to three hours of live overlap, your morning and our early evening, plus asynchronous handover. On the West Coast the live window is thinner.

Our routine is simple: a short call when your day starts, a written update on a shared project board, and a demo on a staging server every two weeks. Questions you raise at night are often answered by morning. See the USA hub for how we run this on every project.

Engagement models and pricing

Three models cover most projects:

  • Fixed quote. After discovery you get a written scope and a fixed price for a defined build. Changes go through a written change request.
  • Dedicated team. A monthly commitment for designers, developers and QA working only on your product, for work that will keep evolving.
  • Support retainer. After launch, a monthly allowance for fixes, updates and small features.

We do not publish dollar prices, because a customer portal and a multi-site workflow system are very different jobs. You receive the quote in writing before you commit.

Process and timeline

A typical first release follows the same path: one to two weeks of discovery and written scope, a design pass on the main screens, then build in two-week cycles with a staging demo at the end of each. A focused MVP often lands in 10 to 14 weeks; larger systems take longer, and we would rather give you a phased plan than a single rushed date.

You receive the source code in your repository, deployment scripts, API documentation, a data model overview and the accounts (hosting, domains, app stores, payment processors) under your company name.

Risks of offshoring, and how we reduce them

The honest risks are IP, communication, quality and dependency on one vendor. Our answers:

  • IP and ownership. Assignment of IP to you is written into the contract, and the repository is yours from the first commit.
  • Communication. A named point of contact, a shared board, written decisions, and calls at a fixed time.
  • Quality. Code review, automated tests on the parts that matter and a staging environment you can try every two weeks.
  • Vendor lock-in. Standard frameworks, documentation, and no proprietary components you cannot run without us.
  • Confidentiality. An NDA on request before you share requirements.

You should also agree on governing law and where disputes are heard. Have your own lawyer review the agreement.

How to evaluate any custom software vendor

Use this checklist on us and on anyone else:

  • Can they show real shipped products you can open? (Ours are in our case studies, including the ERPSetu multi-industry ERP, built mostly for the Indian market.)
  • Will the code and cloud accounts be in your name from day one?
  • Is the scope written down, with a change process?
  • Do they say what they do not do, including certifications they lack?
  • Can you speak to the person who will actually lead the build?
  • What happens to the project if a key developer leaves?

Next step

Tell us what you want to build, who will use it and what it needs to connect to. We will come back with questions and a written scope. If you already know the shape of the project, look at our US ERP or US CRM pages, or contact us directly.

FAQs

Questions USA buyers ask

Something else? Ask us directly.

It depends on scope, so we quote after discovery rather than from a price list. You receive a written scope and a fixed quote for a defined build, or a monthly rate for a dedicated team. Ask any vendor for the assumptions behind a number.

Yes. IP assignment is written into the contract, the repository sits in your account and hosting, domains and app store accounts are opened in your company name. You can remove our access at any time.

We build the features those laws call for, such as deletion, export, consent records and opt-outs, when your counsel confirms they apply. Compliance is a legal question for your business; we supply the technical controls and documentation.

If your project involves protected health information, raise it in the first call. HIPAA has no certification for developers, but a BAA between you and any vendor with access is required, and we build with synthetic data where possible.

We hold a short call in your morning, which is our early evening, and use a shared project board for everything else. A staging demo every two weeks shows progress, so decisions rarely wait on a live meeting.
