About This Project

For this project, I designed a label for a dessert spot called “My Coco Cafe.” I wanted the design to feel cozy, inviting, and fancy, making people really want to indulge. It was also super important that the label clearly showed their desserts were top-notch. And of course, it needed to nicely show off all their different treats, things like macarons, sundaes, cakes, and pies.

What Went Into The Design

I used warm colors, like a sunset, with soft pinks on top. This made it feel inviting and a bit fancy. The background picture showed people enjoying food together. This added a nice story and made the brand feel friendly and about sharing.

Some of the main design features were:

I picked out good-looking fonts for each dessert category, like for Macarons, Sundaes, Cakes, and Pies
The whole design felt balanced, with the main image up top and the brand name down at the bottom
To make it even nicer, I threw in some small decorations, like flowers and little dessert pictures
The text and background had just enough contrast, making it easy to read but still look rich and full of detail

So, I blended photos of people having a good time with clear product branding. This made the label feel a bit fancy, but still relatable to everyone.

Why I’m Showing You This Work

Also, the fact that it shows I am also able to develop packaging that is more than just a presentation piece. The truth is it actually tells a story, it also connects to the viewer on another level too. The other aspect of it is that it is also a very powerful demonstration of my capability of bringing together images, typography, and layout to create a cohesive and distinctive look and feel for a brand. For me this design actually shows my creativity, my cultural awareness and my knowledge of contemporary trends within the contemporary cafe industry and for me this is the one outstanding piece of design in my portfolio.
